Many parents read articles about sleep methods and sleep training methods, however sleep training even in a gentle way is not for everyone. Here is what I want you to know before choosing to work with me.
When you became a parent, you are never going to have uninterrupted sleep as you had before. While most parents are ok being not as well rested for a while, there comes a time when lack of sleep interferes with the family’s dynamic. As we may all know, most of the babies are waking in the night for feeds, comfort etc. But at some point, they are expected to show solid sleep. That’s why parents start scrolling on the internet about tips how to teach a baby to sleep and methods for sleep training.
You’ve probably come across various methods of sleep training a baby/toddlers/young child, you may have tried everything and even nothing for a while and your child sleep seems to be more over the place then ever. So, now you are considering to work along with a sleep consultant. Now, that you are here on my page, here is what you need to know about my sleep training approach.
- What is a sleep consultant?
- Will BEESYMUM SLEEP approach mean to let my child cry?
- When is best to start sleep training my child?

What is a sleep consultant?
A sleep consultant is a certified person that has knowledge and experience in working with young children and parents towards building healthy sleep habits. The sleep consultant with discuss with you and will identify triggers like sleep associations (the conditions that a baby falls asleep). The sleep consultant encourages parents to remove those conditions using gentle and calming strategies so that babies will learn to gain the ability to put themselves to bed without their parents help.
Will BEESYMUM SLEEP approach mean to let my child cry?
I am aware of almost all on-trend sleep methods at the moment and I will say this out loud. I never considered the cry-it-out/ extinction method (a method that involves putting the child to sleep for the night alone in a crib and letting him cry without adult response until morning). I am a mother of two and even if I had a very challenging baby in terms of sleep, I never considered the crying-out method.
Of course, babies cry and if they are sensitive and super alert babies they would rather have your help falling asleep, so yes they will cry at bedtime, nap time or during the night while learning to put themselves to sleep. However, I would always recommend responding to your child needs and being there for them.
When to start sleep training?
Sleep training programs are recommended for children above 6 months old, and the main reason for this is that before this age they have to have fed over the night. However, is strongly recommended to sleep train a baby before their first birthday. Sleep training toddlers will be more challenging because they are more aware of themselves and they will have strong habits and sleep patterns set and it will be much harder to break them.
Beesymum sleep approach step by step
My approach is gentle and sleep-tailored for your baby’s needs. After I collect all the data with regards to the baby’s sleep/feed/play I will come up with a very specific, progressive sleep plan for getting your baby to learn to fall asleep on his own and stay asleep over the night.
The plan will include:
- Bedtime routine for baby according to your specific needs and conditions as a family.
- Tips for how to create a healthy sleep environment that suits to your family best.
- Gentle strategies about how to respond if the baby cries.
- Follow up calls/emails/texts about the progress and support to keep being consistent about putting in practice the sleep plan
- Next steps that can help and guide you after you are no-longer using my support.
- A What to expect Sleep Plan so you can be prepared for changes like sickness, holidays, other person watching the baby, clock change, teething, regressions etc.
Some children (no matter the age) need to be taught to sleep.
